July 3rd:
Today was a great day. We had plans on starting the day at the TreeHouse Museum in Ogden but they had problems with their air conditioning and they weren't sure how long they would be opened so we decided to do that another day. We went to Salt Lake to the mall and the kids had a great time. It was fun because we were in no rush to be anywhere and we got to me a little more spontaneous. Then we went to Scheel's. The kids got new water bottles because it has been so hot outside I wanted them to always have water with them. Mason picked a pink water bottle. I have noticed he really likes pink. Nothing is wrong with that....just funny! Afterwards we went to dad and Teresa's house and James and I were able to take Nyah and Graham to go see Despicable Me 2. Despite having to sit on the second row, we had so much fun. The kids had cleaned out the toy room and sold some of their toys so we thought this movie would be a great way to spend the money. The kids laughed alot (James fell asleep for part of it, but only because he was real tired, not because of the show, lol) I loved watching their faces when they got the humor of the movie. Graham ate alot of popcorn a little too fast and right after the movie he went into the bathroom with James and threw up. He fell asleep soon after. When we got home we put glow sticks in grandmas jet tub and turned off the lights. The kids thought that was pretty fun. We got to bed super late but we had a nice day shopping and being with family.
July 4th:
We woke up this morning to go to breakfast with dad and Teresa. IHOP was too full so we went over to Village Inn. The kids and I always love eating out. Dad and James left because my dad had to go to work and he was going to take James to the train station because James had to work later in the afternoon. Right as we were about to leave village Inn, James called and said the train was not running because of the holiday. I guess he didn't look at the schedule. lol. We went to pick him up and I drove him home so we could still spend the day with Teresa. We went to lunch, took the kids to the Riverton City park where they went searching for candy and money in the haystack dive. Then we went over to McDonalds to let the kids play and have icecream. It was a fun filled day. We drove home around the time the fireworks were beginning so we got to see several firework shows throughout the Salt Lake valley. We all thought it was pretty neat!
July 5th:
Tonight around dinner time I was thinking what we should have since I have not gone to the store yet. Then on facebook I saw that some good friends from Kansas were passing through and were getting their car fixed here in Layton. So we met up with them at IHOP and ate dinner. I am so glad we met up with them. They are one of the families we miss so much. Then I needed to go water a friend's garden for her since they were out of town, and it just started pouring rain. It rained enough that when I went to go water it was all nice and wet. It's these small tender mercies that get me through the day.

July 2nd, 2013
Today we went to Walmart. Yes that is worthy of putting in my journal because I don't get out too much with all 4 kids and James. Especially in this heat. I don't feel like moving a whole lot in the heat! Lol. We were able to get a few things for some projects and found Graham some new underwear and a tshirt. He is obsessed with batman right now and all he wants is batman this and batman that. We surprised him and told him he could get some new underwear since he was growing out of his current ones. He of course picked batman and spiderman. It's funny because at our age, or as teenagers I guess, we would try to hide our underwear inside the cart under other stuff so nobody else would see what we were buying. Well, the joy and innocence of a child shined brightly today. He proudly carried those packs of underwear around the store and as soon as we got home he couldn't wait to go and change in to a new pair. What a silly kid.
Later we made some 4th of July shirts with the kids handprints on them. I think they turned out pretty cute. I will have to post some pictures later. The next couple days we have quite a few things planned for the holiday. I hope it all turns out and we enjoy the weekend!

July 1st, 2013
Today was really hot. Well above 100 and we needed to get out and get wet. I started the day off by going to help a friend of a friend with a Mary Kay facial so she could earn a trip to Disneyland. I was happy to help. Who wouldn't want to help someone earn a free trip to Disneyland for their kids? It felt nice to go out on my own and leave the kids with James. Afterwards I went to the DI in Ogden and I found a couple sheets for the fish pond we are doing at this years reunion. I am excited for the finished product.
Later I came home and after nap time Heidi Thompson texted me and asked if we wanted to come and do the slip n slide. We decided to take the kids to the splash pad in Riverdale and get some dinner afterwards. The kids had a great time getting wet and cooling off. I really think Kenzy enjoyed the water alot. She is such a mellow baby and is pretty content with everything she does, but I could tell she loved the water.
After a long hot day I did get in a little treadmill time. I would like to exercise more and feel better all around. I went to bed early too which is not very usual for me. I need to break the bad habit of staying up too late.
